I have The Rutles on.

And as I’m listening to “Joe Public” — the Rutles’ riff on “Tomorrow Never Knows” from Archaeology — I had a lunatic brainwave.

There should be Rutles downloadable content for Beatles Rock Band.

Hell, people have tried passing off “Cheese & Onions” as a genuine John Lennon song. And George Harrison sometimes referred to himself as Stig.

It won’t happen. McCartney wasn’t a fan of All You Need Is Cash, and Eric Idle is an ass and he’d find some way to scuttle the idea just to spite Neil Innes.

Still, a guy can dream…
