Things Seen and Unseen

The things you can see — the Pride of the Susquehanna tied to its pier, the lights of FNB Field after a tough loss for the Harrisburg Senators (and as they prepare for the Scouts to camp out overnight on the outfield), the fading twilight after sunset, Jupiter a few degrees from the waxing crescent of the Moon, Venus much closer to the horizon.

The things you can’t see — the strong and cool breeze blowing off the river, the sound of lapping waves, the rustle of leaves, the hum of motorboat engines on the Susquehanna, the metallic twang of feet on the Market Street bridge, the earthy smell of nature.
