Harrisburg at Twilight

I was in Harrisburg for a Senators baseball game. It was “Swords and Dragons Night” — Game of Thrones Night with the serial numbers filed inexpertly off — and they were playing the Bowie Baysox and Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman was making a rehab start.

The game ended around sunset and, with the sky still somewhat light, the Senators had post-game fireworks. The Senators lost, 5-2.

Afterward, I walked across the Walnut Street Bridge.

The river was loud as it rushed beneath the pedestrian bridge. Overhead, a drone flew across the river, hovered, then turned toward City Island.

I sat across the Susquehanna from the ballpark for a few minutes. Twilight faded, and the sky was dark by the time I returned to the Beetle on City Island and headed home.

It the kind of day early summer should be.
