Alrighty, then! Learning of Bobby Pickett’s death<\/a> two days ago reminded me of one of the all-time great bands. An odd<\/i> band, to say the least. A little-known band today. But still great!<\/p>\n

    The band Death Cab for Cutie gets their name from a Bonzo Dog song of the same name. And that song turns up in the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour<\/i> film. Paul McCartney produced the Bonzos hit song “I’m the Urban Spaceman,” and Bonzo Dog Neil Innes (also sometimes called the Seventh Python for his musical contributions to Monty Python<\/i>) was the songwriter behind the Beatles-spoof band The Rutles.<\/p>\n
