A few days ago I received an e-mail from Star Trek<\/i> writer Kevin Lauderdale. Kevin and I have shared covers—he has a story in Constellations<\/i>—and I’ve been a long-time fan of his work, going back to a review website he ran about ten years ago called “The Kevindex.”<\/p>\n
He’d joined SFWA. Science-Fiction Writers of America.<\/p>\n
Jim Johnson, another Star Trek<\/i> writer, mentioned on his blog a few days ago that he, too, was now a member of SFWA.<\/p>\n
Some people already thinK I’m a member. I’m not.<\/p>\n
So, this started me thinking.<\/p>\n
Now that I’m eligible, should I join?<\/p>\n
So I’m throwing it out to the audience.<\/p>\n
What are the benefits to joining SFWA? Are there drawbacks?<\/p>\n
