Laying in bed this morning, staring at the ceiling, I realized something. Something very profound. And then I lost it.<\/p>\n

No, just kidding! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

What I realized is that while I’ve seen a fair number of music-based memes passed around the LJ-blogosphere, I’ve not seen a Beatles<\/i>-specific music meme. The Beatles are so… big<\/i> that there’s an obvious need for one. If you like the Beatles, that is. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

    1. Favorite Beatle as a Beatle:<\/b>
      I don’t have one<\/a>. Sometimes I think George’s guitar work is amazing. Sometimes I think Paul’s harmonies are perfect. Sometimes I think Ringo’s drumwork is definitive. Sometimes I think John’s lyrics are mesmerizing. But there’s no one Beatle I can place above the other three and point to and say, “That one’s my favorite.” It’s just not possible.<\/li>\n
    2. Favorite Beatle as a solo performer:<\/b>
      Probably George Harrison. I listen to his solo work more than John’s or Ringo’s. And definitely more than Paul’s.<\/li>\n
    3. First memory of the Beatles?<\/b>
      WTTG used to show A Hard Day’s Night<\/i> about once a month when I was a kid. I didn’t know who the Beatles were. But I remember the movie.<\/li>\n
    4. First Beatles album you bought?<\/b>
      Past Masters Volume 2<\/i>.<\/li>\n
    5. Number of Beatles albums owned (approximations are<\/i> okay):<\/b>
      Thirty-five.<\/li>\n

      Approximately sixty. I’m not going to go count.<\/li>\n

      Revolver<\/i>.<\/li>\n
    8. Least favorite Beatles album:<\/b>
      Please Please Me<\/i>. I know, it’s their first. It’s also the one I listen to least.<\/li>\n

      “Let It Be.”<\/li>\n
    10. Favorite obscure Beatles song:<\/b>
      “Cry Baby Cry” on “The White Album.” I love this song with its surrealistic, Lewis Carroll-like lyric, but it’s not one that’s ever played on the radio. It’s just an obscure album track as “The White Album” is about to barrel into “Revolution #9.”<\/li>\n
    11. Least favorite Beatles song:<\/b>
      No clue, really. I think most people would answer this with, “Y’know, that noise collage they did” (that being “Revolution #9”), yet I like<\/i> “Revolution #9.” It’d be something from their early work that didn’t “click” with me.<\/li>\n
