I haven’t seen anything interesting in the news. Except, of course, that Duke lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Which, really, in the long run, is insignificant.

I was disappointed. No Cubs on WGN over the weekend. White Sox, yes. But no Cubs. What’s up with that?

I guess it’s because it was Easter that the world paused.

I did discover Space Democrats. It’s like DailyKos, but for space policy. There are space policy wonks? I had no idea. 🙂

I also messed around with some audio editing software, to take backwards lyrics in Beatles songs and flip them around.

I also recorded my own voice and flipped that around. Then I put a wah-wah effect on it. Reversed voice, with a wah-wah effect. All because I could. The end result is something that sounds quite alien. And now I can sort of say my name in reverse, so that if it’s recorded and flipped it actually makes sense. The leading vowel is a bit of a bugger; I don’t think the human voice can make that sound reversed.

I watched Torchwood‘s “Adrift,” but I’ve not watched “Fragments” yet. I thought “Adrift” was involving and moving. It has some “idiot plot” tendencies, but they’re not actually flaws, per se; Gwen was so focused on the “prize” that she couldn’t see the bigger picture, couldn’t contemplate the issues she was raising. One note about the ending struck me as wrong, but beyond that I found it solid.

I did some writing as well.

And that was my weekend.

Some Monday morning memes!

First, tarot cards.

I’ve actually done this very meme, sixteen months ago. Different result then, too. I don’t know that I’ve really changed; Internet memes don’t often ask enough questions to have any sort of statistical validity.

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild – or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

And this one was kind of odd. I had to write about Skelanimals at work, only I had no idea what they were.
