I mentioned a few days ago the comic book films I was looking forward to this summer. To recap, from top to bottom:<\/p>\n
It’s a bit of a misnomer, actually, to suggest that I’m looking forward to The Incredible Hulk<\/i>. I’m quite ambivalent about it, and have no real feelings for it positively or negatively. It’s simply… there.<\/p>\n
I realized on the drive into work this morning — a long slog through drizzle and stupid drivers — that there are other<\/i> movies this summer. Movies that I am<\/i> looking forward to, even though I’d completely forgotten them.<\/p>\n
Movies like Prince Caspian<\/i>. And Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/i>.<\/p>\n
I can understand how I forgot the former — it’s sneaking up on us in mid-May. I downloaded the trailer for it. Watched the trailer a dozen times easily. Got really excited when the trebuchets unload. And then forgot about it. I should probably reread the book, while it’s on my mind.<\/p>\n
But Indy<\/i>? How could I forget that<\/i>? Especially when I just bought — and ranted about<\/a> — the Indiana Jones<\/i> Mint Crisp M&Ms!<\/p>\n Sigh.<\/p>\n Indiana Jones<\/i>, by the way, needs to earn $400-plus million for Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Harrison Ford to get paid<\/a>. (The article is unfortunately vague on the revenue streams that build toward that $400 million dollar mark. If DVD sales are included, it’s in the bag.)<\/p>\n So there’s at least four movies I want to see this summer — Prince Caspian<\/i>, Indiana Jones<\/i>, Hellboy II<\/i>, Dark Knight<\/i>.<\/p>\n If only ticket prices weren’t so egregious. :\/<\/p>\n It’s going to be an awesome summer for movies.<\/p>\n I’m excited. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I mentioned a few days ago the comic book films I was looking forward to this summer.
