(I had gummies and comic books to give away.  I had no kids come by, however.  Means more gummies and comics for me!)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a fun holiday.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s certainly <i>not<\/i> an occasion for political grandstanding.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you&#8217;re Shirley Nagel of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ap.google.com\/article\/ALeqM5gNm50g1aJQzo_RVdnnCOuhw9iaGAD946BQD01\">If children came to her house and their parents were planning on voting for Barack Obama on Tuesday, she turned them away<\/a>.  No candy for the children of Obama supporters from Ms. Nagel.<\/p>\n<p>Her reason?  Obama is &#8220;scary.&#8221;  And &#8220;everybody has a choice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So, Ms. Nagel turned a holiday that is about harmless fun into a reason to punish children for their parents&#8217; political choices.<\/p>\n<p>She put her fear of Obama ahead of being a productive member of her community.<\/p>\n<p>Children approaching her house last night &#8220;were turned away empty-handed and crying&#8221; according to the article.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley Nagel, you&#8217;re a pathetic human being.  Shirley Nagel, you&#8217;re scum, and you should be ashamed of yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Have a bag of rocks, you hateful woman.<\/p>\n<p>A shout-out to <a href=\"http:\/\/retconredux.blogspot.com\/\">De<\/a> for bringing this appalling story to my attention.<\/p>\n<p><b>ETA (11-2-08):<\/b>  And here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_c75OtUlWC0\">a local television news report on Ms. Nagel&#8217;s Halloween grandstanding<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Halloween.
