“You mean breakfast,” she said.<\/p>\n
“No, dinner.”<\/p>\n
“It’s dark,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Of course it’s dark. It’s dinner time.”<\/p>\n
“We just had dinner.”<\/p>\n
“No, we had dinner yesterday<\/i>. It’s time for dinner now<\/i>.”<\/p>\n
“I want breakfast.”<\/p>\n
“We had breakfast this morning.”<\/p>\n
“No we didn’t.”<\/p>\n
“You had pancakes.”<\/p>\n
“Oh, yes, I did.”<\/p>\n
“It’s dinnertime,” I said. “Get up.”<\/p>\n
She got up. She ate dinner. Spaghetti. She didn’t eat much of it.<\/p>\n
