Last night, while listening to the BBC World Service on NPR, I heard something I’d never, ever heard before.<\/p>\n
I heard someone pronounce “February” the way it’s spelled.<\/p>\n
I’ve always heard people say “Fe Byoo Airy.” Sometimes, just to be fun, I’ll say “Fe Brew Airy,” and that throws people, but it doesn’t come naturally to me and I have to think to do it.<\/p>\n
But this news presenter, he with the RP accent, he said it “Fe Brew Ree.”<\/p>\n
It was the coolest thing I’d ever heard.<\/p>\n
And it made me go, “So that<\/i>‘s how it’s supposed to be said!”<\/p>\n
