{"id":2479,"date":"2009-08-15T21:07:29","date_gmt":"2009-08-16T02:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.net\/?p=2479"},"modified":"2009-08-15T21:07:29","modified_gmt":"2009-08-16T02:07:29","slug":"on-a-different-look","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/?p=2479","title":{"rendered":"On a Different Look"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After vowing that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/?p=2452\">I would not redesign my website<\/a>, I&#8217;ve gone and redesigned my website.<\/p>\n<p>More, after never having paid for a theme &mdash; because there&#8217;s a veritable wealth of free WordPress themes out there &mdash; I bought a premium theme.<\/p>\n<p>Well, technically, I joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elegantthemes.com\/\">Elegant Themes<\/a> theme club, which gave me access to something like twenty different themes, all for twenty dollars.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure, really, what prompted the recent change of heart.  It could be the pulled muscle in my neck, which kept me from sleeping last night.  It could be the stomach cramps I&#8217;ve had since yesterday, which has made me a little unhappy.<\/p>\n<p>Or, it could be that I just wanted something that looked a little more polished, if a little grungy.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been sorely tempted to try something magazine-like.<\/p>\n<p>I had some trouble with the sidebar and footer widgets.  I&#8217;m still not entirely happy with them.<\/p>\n<p>But this will do for the time being.<\/p>\n<p>I need to do some more work under the hood, like create some custom page templates and write a print stylesheet.  I also need to work on the single post template; I want to add the social networking bar that I picked up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/?p=2319\">back in May<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, I think this works.<\/p>\n<p>For now, I say ominously. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After vowing that I would not redesign my website, I&#8217;ve gone and redesigned my website.
