I’m about to criticize something that I think is neat. Why? Because it’s absolutely wrong.<\/p>\n
MLB and the Minnesota Twins have teamed up to produce a series of commemorative statues for this year’s MLB All-Star Game with the Peanuts<\/i> gang<\/a>.<\/p>\n It’s a natural, right? Charlie Brown and the gang spent a lot of time on the baseball diamond.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, they depict Charlie Brown and his friends in Minnesota Twins gear.<\/p>\n This is where the problem comes in.<\/p>\n Charlie Brown was a Giants fan. In the 60s he talked about Willie Mays and Willie McCovey. He lived and died by the Giants.<\/p>\n Charlie Brown wouldn’t wear Twins gear.<\/p>\n I understand the thinking of MLB. Charles Schulz hailed from Minnesota, so it makes sense to honor his work.<\/p>\n But they do so in a way that is wrong and goes against the very text of the work they honor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I’m about to criticize something that I think is neat.
