If I found a job that could support me there or if money were no object, where would I go?<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, I have <i>two<\/i> answers, one which is <i>slightly<\/i> more realistic than the other.<\/p>\n<p>The unrealistic answer?  Edinburgh, Scotland.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/edinburgh-720x480.jpg\" alt=\"edinburgh\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-29532\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t really have an answer to <i>why<\/i> Edinburgh.  Maybe it&#8217;s the culture.  Maybe it&#8217;s the accents.  Maybe it&#8217;s the football.  I don&#8217;t know, I&#8217;ve never been there.  It&#8217;s just a romantic, unrealistic idea, the sort of thing I&#8217;d do if I won the lottery.<\/p>\n<p>The slightly more realistic answer?  Washington.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/20150827_143808-1200x900.jpg\" alt=\"20150827_143808\" class=\"aligncenter aligncenter wp-image-29531\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always felt that I&#8217;m culturally Washingtonian, and I just love the city.  When I visit, I&#8217;m happy there.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve applied for jobs in DC from time to time.  Nothing has ever bitten, sadly, but for the right job and the right money I&#8217;d move to DC in a heartbeat.  I&#8217;d want to live in Capitol Hill or the Navy Yards neighborhoods, north of the Anacostia.<\/p>\n<p>And if I hit the lottery, that&#8217;s <i>definitely<\/i> something I&#8217;d do.
