This week has been a bit on the dreigh side. It’s been gloomy. My Beetle is encased in fallen oak leaves. I’ve had a cold rain for the past eighteen hours — and the remnants of Hurricane Zeta haven’t even arrived yet.

Yesterday, though, I had a pleasant surprise. At 1:30 there was a knock at my door, and when I opened the door a minute later I found, besides the neighborhood cat no one is allowed to feed, a nice sized box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn’t tell who it was from, having left my glasses in the “office,” so I carried the box, which was a little on the heavy side, to the back of the apartment, put on my reading glasses, and cut it open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside was copies of Belanger Books’ In the Foorsteps of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson<\/em>, containing my story, “The Adventure of the Cursed Ruin<\/a>,” a sword-and-sorcery tale starring Escott Sigerson inspired by the Sherlock Holmes canon. The book is geared toward middle grade readers, though I was reading the Canon itself by that age, and I would say the book is good for ages 10 to 110.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book is now available for sale on Amazon<\/a>, so check that out if you’re so inclined. I’ll also have print copies, fates (and COVID) willing, at Farpoint<\/a> in February, and if you want a copy before then touch base and we can work something out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go to the apartment complex’s laundry facility and retrieve my laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
