Since then, the outpouring of love for the artist of <em>Crisis on Infinite Earths<\/em>, <em>The Infinity Gauntlet<\/em>, <em>New Teen Titans<\/em>, <em>Future Imperfect<\/em>, <em>JLA\/Avengers<\/em>, and too many other projects to name from the comics world has been both massive and unending &#8212; and 1000% deserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">P\u00e9rez&#8217;s declining health even managed to get DC Entertainment and Marvel Comics to cooperate again on a limited reprint of <em>JLA\/Avengers<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The World\u2019s Greatest Super Heroes versus Earth\u2019s Mightiest Heroes! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/heroinitiative?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@heroinitiative<\/a> will be releasing a limited reprint of George P\u00e9rez and Kurt Busiek\u2019s  \u2018JLA\/AVENGERS\u2019 crossover in March: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dyuHdpO2z0\">https:\/\/t.co\/dyuHdpO2z0<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GutSUFZM1f\">https:\/\/t.co\/GutSUFZM1f<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lpe08DpUsG\">pic.twitter.com\/lpe08DpUsG<\/a><\/p>&mdash; DC (@DCComics) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DCComics\/status\/1493996576519323650?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 16, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While I have the individual issues &#8212; I bought them at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/capitolcomicsofraleigh\/\">Capitol Comics<\/a> in Raleigh almost twenty years ago &#8212; I ordered the collection through work, knowing it was limited, knowing it would probably be allocated, knowing I would probably get hosed on it&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which I did.  Diamond cancelled my order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s okay.  It happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Late last week, DC Comics revealed a tribute to P\u00e9rez that will appear in their comics, a jam piece featuring work by Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane (!), Walt Simonson, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Dan Jurgens, Adam Hughes, Jerry Ordway, Kevin Maguire, and many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;re celebrating iconic comic book artist George P\u00e9rez&#39;s birthday all month long in June! It would look fantastic in my apartment.  But DC doesn&#8217;t do a lot in the way of posters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In any case, the artwork is <em>really<\/em> close to a 10&#215;8 image, close enough that will a little bit of cloning on the bottom edge I could fake it well enough to send it to Walgreen&#8217;s and get it printed so I could stick it in a frame and hang it on my bedroom wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which is exactly what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-fullwidth\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"720\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/IMG_20220426_093150-1200x720.jpg\" alt=\"The gallery of fannish artwork on my bedroom wall, with the George Perez tribute piece hanging beneath a reproduction of the cover to New Teen Titans #1.
