Captain’s Log, Stardate 3100.0. Our routine survey mission in quadrant Capella I has been cut short. USS Enterprise has received word from Starfleet Command that a rogue Klingon fleet has crossed into Federation space. Orders from Admiral Turner<\/a> are to intercept and destroy all 11 Klingon vessels in Federation space. We are going to red alert; sensors indicate two Klingon vessels are have entered quadrant Capella I. Battlestations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes Super Star Trek<\/i>, described here<\/a>, starts one off with really dumb parameters. And this was one of the sillier scenarios — in a galaxy of 64 sectors, I would face 11<\/i> Klingons (that’s roughly 1 for every 6 sectors), with 8<\/i> starbases (that’s 1 for every 8)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suffice it to say, I rid the galaxy of the Klingon scourge, but…<\/p>\n\n\n

I destroyed a starbase! With malice aforethought!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was in the same sector as the last Klingon I had to defeat, and I was curious what would happen if I, oh, fired a photon torpedo at a starbase. After all, when I’m docked to a starbase for repairs and there are Klingons in the sector, they will attack but the starbase’s shields will protect the Enterprise<\/i>. But against the Enterprise<\/i>‘s torpedoes…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sorry, starbase. You had a good run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My score was not good, but that’s really down the fact that there weren’t many Klingons to destroy, and it takes just as much time to explore a galaxy almost devoid of Klingons as it takes to explore a galaxy absolutely teeming with them.<\/p>\n\n\n
