One nice thing about last weekend and seeing Oasis in New Jersey<\/a> is that it has reset my Facebook algorithm entirely. All of my ads, all of the algorithmic content, is Oasis-related — fan accounts, radio stations, bootleg merchandise, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not a comprehensive survey, just a couple of things I’ve screenshotted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Couldn’t get any the Adidas merchandise at the pop-up shop or the venue? Well, Facebook has you covered with bootleg Oasis jerseys! How do I know they’re bootlegs? Well, real<\/em> Adidas Oasis jerseys aren’t going to be under twenty-five dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s t-shirts! So many t-shirts! The one of the left, with the concert dates of the entire tour, is exactly what my sister wanted from the pop-up store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y’know, I should talk about the pop-up store merchandise at this point. They had a series of t-shirts with the sleeve art for a number of the band’s singles. If they’d had one for “Whatever” I would have bought it. They didn’t, so I was content with my bucket hat and tour program.<\/p>\n\n\n

This Oasis Peanuts<\/em> mash-up shirt is pretty nice, though. I’ve no idea if Sparky had any thoughts on Oasis. I’m trying to think, who would be the Peanuts<\/em> characters most likely to be into Oasis? I want to say Rerun, but it’s gotta be Linus. Yeah, Linus would totally be into decrypting the lyrics. Linus would need to know what a “Wonderwall” is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bootleg Funko POP!s! As an advent calendar or a Christmas tree ornament!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I call them “bootleg” because these are clearly in the Funko POP! style — the dead black eyes and large head gives it away — except nothing about these indicates they’re made by Funko. And I’ve seen other IPs get the same treatment, notably The Lord of the Rings<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Christmas ornament looks pretty cool, honestly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This scratches the surface, but I don’t want to bore you more. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
