I still have a Twitter account. I don’t use it for anything, I nuked my Tweets a while ago. I tried using it to colorize some old baseball photos, and that worked out well. I don’t want to give up my handle there, so I scroll through my feed to see if there’s anything of interest, which is how I wrote yesterday about the Fugitive Doctor in Doctor Who<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s look at a few things that caught my interest in the last few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel this. I received four rejections this week, including one from a company in Red Lion that had already rejected me three<\/em> times for the same application. One application, four rejections. I get it, you don’t want me! You don’t have to keep kicking!<\/p>\n\n\n

Dude, I’ve been living in a existential crisis for years<\/em> at this point. I’m still carrying grief and trauma from COVID, things piled up mentally with little to no way to deal with them, I was at the point of burnout at Diamond even before<\/em> the bankruptcy<\/a>, then I lost my job<\/a>, then my dad had a health crisis, then my mom died. I was already overwhelmed in my personal mental space, then put psychological weight that is the moral atrocity of the Trump administration on top of that. Point is, I was already broken<\/em>. 2026 is just adding on to that.<\/p>\n\n\n

Speaking of the Trump administration’s moral atrocities, I am still appalled that Attorney General Pam Bondi responded to a question about the Jeffrey Epstein in a Congressional hearing by pointing to the stock market and the Dow Jones hitting 50,000.<\/p>\n\n\n

I laughed too hard at this. And I definitely read Gandalf’s line aloud in my bad Ian McKellen impression.<\/p>\n\n\n

Concentration camps in the United States. That’s where we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told my mom in November 2015 that I expected to die in a concentration camp. She thought I was kidding. She didn’t understand how my thinking got to that point. Looking at what’s been happening in Minnesota the last six weeks, I don’t think I was wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can happen here. It is<\/em> happening here.<\/p>\n\n\n

The comparison between King Charles I and Donald Trump has long been on my mind. In many ways he has, if not in law then in practice, prorogued Congress and governs via imperial decrees (ie., executive orders). Trump has enacted his own version of Charles’ “Personal Rule.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The irony of this all is, I’m a bit fond of Charles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, he was a terrible king. He made bad decisions. He lost his head. I’m not sure anyone could have done better with Parliament at that time; there was simply no pleasing the Puritans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But he was a decent husband and father. He genuinely loved his wife and his children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was never meant to be king. He probably would have made a good Archbishop of York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump would not make a good archbishop of anywhere<\/em>. There’s not a pious bone in body. No humility. No love.<\/p>\n\n\n
