Late last week I went by Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. I was looking for their inexpensive quick-grow grass seed, and they had none (that I could find). So, I bought some groceries while I was there (the Kraft Jalapeno Mac & Cheese — not recommended) and a Rubik’s Cube.<\/p>\n

It’s called the Rubik’s Squish Cube. It’s a squish toy and<\/i> a Rubik’s Cube. Scramble it, solve it, squeeze it in your hand. Fidget multiple ways!<\/p>\n

\"AAs a squish toy, I am less than impressed. It’s not especially squeezable, because there’s a Rubik’s mechanism inside. I can drop it on the desk and it will bounce, there’s some give when I try to crush it, but a replacement for a foam stress ball it is not.<\/p>\n

As a Rubik’s Cube, however, it’s perfectly fine. You probably wouldn’t want to use it for speed solving — it doesn’t do corner cuts well — but for a slower solve it’s adequate. The colors are, I think, a little sharper than the usual cube, being painted onto the black foam.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Rubik’s Squish Cube looks nice and weighs less than the norm. I might not use it as a squeeze toy, but if I were looking for a cube to give someone as their first Rubik’s Cube, I think the sharp colors, lighter weight, and softer feel all make this a good choice for that first cube.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
