Look at this picture. Do you hear what I hear?<\/p>\n

The Windowx XP startup sound? This hillside is almost<\/i> the default Bliss wallpaper.<\/p>\n

I’m not going to tell you I didn’t<\/i> vocalize the startup sound as I took this picture. \ud83d\ude06<\/p>\n

It’s only recently that I’ve begun to play that classic computer game Minesweeper<\/i>. There are many variants\/clones\/remakes. The one I play is the old Linux X11 game, Xbomb.<\/p>\n

Here’s a game from last night. Let’s look at the progression.<\/p>\n

Look at that! 76 percent of the board cleared. Except… I’ve only found two mines. The other 8 are along the left and bottom edges. Oh, this will be tricksy…<\/p>\n

Solved the left side!<\/p>\n

Five bombs remain for eight spots along the bottom row.\"\"<\/p>\n

The 2-3-1 was the key, as it helped me to see that, from left to right, the sequence had to be bomb-no bomb-bomb. The problem is I get to the 4, there are two spaces left to solve, and the only numerical indicator is the four. The bomb could be in either spot. It’s a 50-50 coin flip…<\/p>\n
