I started the video, and the &#8220;lost&#8221; song was none other than &#8220;Piece of Mind,&#8221; which <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/?p=1624\">I wrote about in the distant days of 2008<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who have not heard it, let me embed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Beatles - The Candle Burns (Peace of Mind) (2026 Mix)\" width=\"750\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A9PIDa6dKho?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s a strange song. It is distinctly low quality. Some thought it was a demo. Some thought it had been left in the trash. I wrote in 2008, &#8220;no one knows where this song came from. Some argue passionately that it\u2019s a Beatles demo. While others argue that it\u2019s clearly not the Beatles. Maybe it\u2019s Pink Floyd. Maybe it\u2019s a bunch of stoned kids trying to <i>sound<\/i> like Pink Floyd.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mystery was solved several years ago.  It was recorded by two friends in Florida, they had a college radio program in the 60s, and they played it on their show one night, claiming it was a Beatles song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wikipedia does not currently tell you this.  If one delves into the &#8220;Talk&#8221; page of the article, there&#8217;s a lengthy discussion about why the origins of the song are not fit for Wikipedia&#8217;s standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyway, the video on &#8220;Peace of Mind&#8221; &#8212; or, technically, &#8220;Piece of Mind&#8221; &#8212; is fascinating.
