Oasis released their first CD in three years today, Don’t Believe the Truth<\/i>.<\/p>\n
I’ve listened to it twice now. I’m not taken with it. And I’ll be damned if I could really explain why.<\/p>\n
The music is okay, but not catchy. What it sounds like is a Beatles tribute band, only moreso. And yes, I know Oasis took their lead from Revolver<\/i>-era Beatles, but I’d expect something<\/i> catchy to come from that. Instead, a lot of the songs feel insubstantial and unfinished.<\/p>\n
I’ll listen to it a few more times to form a final opinion, surely, but it’s not on top of my list of things-to-do.<\/p>\n
