Today was Batman haiku<\/a> day on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Don’t ask me why. I don’t know how these things get started. I wouldn’t have even known<\/i> about Batman haiku were it not for Julio Angel Ortiz.<\/p>\n

I wrote a few Batman haikus, and I posted them to Twitter, and then I wrote a few more that I didn’t post. I am not a poet, I’ve not written a poem in a year, and I don’t think my poetry is anything spectacular. But, for the sake of completeness, I offer to you, my readers, my Batman haikus.<\/p>\n

1.
\nPlans and counterplans,
\nBatman thinks of ev’rything;
\nVictory at hand.<\/p>\n

2.
\nGunpowder, ozone —
\nDeath’s scent lingers in still air.
\nBatman will solve this.<\/p>\n

3.
\nPenguin’s latest plot?
\nGotham torn asunder;
\nThe Dark Knight cries out!<\/p>\n

4.
\nHe watches her fall,
\nLithe as her totem feline —
\nA rooftop escape.<\/p>\n

5.
\nGood soldier — Jason.
\nAnd another — Stephanie.
\nCasualties of war.<\/p>\n

6.
\nThe dark of this night,
\nBroken by the Bat Signal above —
\nBatman hunts once more!<\/p>\n

As I said, I’m not a poet. I’m not sure if any of these actually work<\/i>. Still, they were twenty minutes of fun — a sheet of notebook paper, scribbles, red ink, the whole shebang. Can’t really complain about that. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
