The Walken 2008 website has few details on Walken&#8217;s positions on the issues of the day, nor does it offer a party affiliation for Mr. Walken.  This quote on the front page provides some insight on his views:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nOur great country is in a terrible downward spiral. We&#8217;re outsourcing jobs, bankrupting social security, and losing lives at war. We need to focus on what&#8217;s important&#8211; paying attention to our children, our citizens, our future. We need to think about improving our failing educational system, making better use of our resources, and helping to promote a stable, safe, and tolerant global society. It&#8217;s time to be smart about our politics. It&#8217;s time to get America back on track.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What can we expect from Christopher Walken, Presidential candidate.  In the short term, very little, with the election still three-plus years away.  According to his website&#8217;s press release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWalken campaign manager Michael Hansee admitted that there would be relatively minimal publicity at this early stage. &#8220;[Mr. Walken] has a full plate right now, acting in a number of different films, and can&#8217;t start any personal campaign work until these obligations are fulfilled,&#8221; he commented. &#8220;We&#8217;re looking to spread the word and build a little support base with our website, in preparation for a full campaign in early 2007.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The campaign website is patriotic-themed, with the tag-line &#8220;To Get America Back on Track.&#8221; Hansee stated that the campaign is hoping to drum up early support through their online presence, much like Howard Dean did in the 2004 race.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s early days, obviously.  Developments with the Walken campaign will hopefully prove interesting.
