Always a volatile group, the Gallagher brothers had finally had enough of one another, and Noel bolted.<\/p>\n<p>In a few months, the first post-Oasis album from either of the Gallaghers will be out.  Liam Gallagher has carried on with the last Oasis line-up, <i>sans<\/i> Noel, of course, and formed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beadyeyemusic.co.uk\/\">Beady Eye<\/a> with an album due for release in the new year.<\/p>\n<p>The band has made their first single, &#8220;Bring the Light,&#8221; available for a free download:<\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.topspin.net\/javascripts\/topspin_core.js?aId=3497&#038;timestamp=1289380550\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"centered\" class=\"topspin-widget topspin-widget-email-for-media\">\n<object type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" id=\"TSWidget43496\" data=\"http:\/\/cdn.topspin.net\/widgets\/email2\/swf\/TSEmailMediaWidget.swf?timestamp=1289380550\" bgColor=\"#000000\"><param value=\"always\" name=\"allowScriptAccess\"\/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\"\/><param name=\"quality\" value=\"high\"\/><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/cdn.topspin.net\/widgets\/email2\/swf\/TSEmailMediaWidget.swf?timestamp=1289380550\"\/><param name=\"flashvars\" value=\"playMedia=true&amp;highlightColor=0x5d6f7a&amp;theme=black&amp;widget_id=http:\/\/cdn.topspin.net\/api\/v1\/artist\/3497\/email_for_media\/43496?timestamp=1289145292\"\/><\/object>\n<\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s an&#8230; <i>odd<\/i> song.  It&#8217;s not a bad song, just an odd one and maybe a little underwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>Oasis&#8217; last album, <i>Dig Out Your Soul<\/i>, showed that Liam really did have the songwriting chops of his brother, with &#8220;Out of Time&#8221; as the prime example.  Beady Eye&#8217;s first song is a bit simpler.  If Oasis was Beatles-fueled, &#8220;Bring the Light&#8221; feels like even <i>more<\/i> of a throwback, back to Jerry Lee Lewis or Buddy Holly or Roy Orbison, albeit with the massed sonic attack that Oasis typically bring to their material.  The lyrics aren&#8217;t anything to write home about.  Even the riff doesn&#8217;t stick in the mind.  Ultimately, it&#8217;s not a very memorable song.<\/p>\n<p>Still, if you loved Oasis, the song is free, so why not give it a shot?<\/p>\n<p>Now I&#8217;m curious what Noel&#8217;s post-Oasis debut with sound like.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A little more than a year ago, Oasis went its separate ways.
