In case you didn’t know, Alex Kingston of E.R.<\/i> and Doctor Who<\/i> will be appearing on the Craig Ferguson Show<\/i> tonight.<\/p>\n

Over a year ago, I wrote that Kingston would be a fantastic guest for Ferguson’s show<\/a>; he’s clearly a fan (watch the monologue from that link), and Kingston lived in Los Angeles. (I use “lived,” past tense; she and her husband have just sold their Los Angeles home<\/a>). Surely, I thought, Kingston would be an easy Doctor Who<\/i> guest to book for his show; given that the show films some five thousand miles away from Los Angeles, Alex Kingston lived practically up the street from the CBS studios.<\/p>\n

So, of course, it was eleventh Doctor actor Matt Smith that Ferguson scored for his show<\/a> in November, when Doctor Who<\/i> was filming on location in Utah.<\/p>\n

And tonight! We get Alex Kingston!<\/p>\n

Given Ferguson’s particular brand of lunacy, I doubt he’d ask her anything about any of her work on anything. No E.R.<\/i> No Doctor Who<\/i>. Not even Moll Flanders<\/i>.<\/p>\n

We could hope<\/i> that Ferguson might ask Kingston’s opinion on who River Song is or what she thinks of the length of Karen Gillan’s skirts, unlikely as those questions would be. No, Ferguson would, like as not, quiz Kingston about a by-election in Burley-upon-Thames, a subject that neither he nor Kingston would be qualified to discuss!<\/p>\n

Though I hope, honestly, that Kingston gets in at least one<\/i> “Spoilers!”<\/p>\n

Tonight, then. It’s not as big for Doctor Who<\/i> as Matt Smith’s appearance six weeks ago, but still, it’s a significant happening. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
