The Shakespeare Authorship Question is the subject of a new film from <i>Independence Day<\/i> director Roland Emmerich, <i>Anonymous<\/i>, out this autumn.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/insidemovies.ew.com\/2011\/04\/07\/anonymous-trailer-shakespeare\/\">a write-up in <i>Entertainment Weekly<\/i><\/a>, it focuses on Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford, who is considered by some (like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shakespeare-oxford.com\/\">Shakespeare-Oxford Society<\/a>) to be the true author of Shakespeare&#8217;s plays.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer looks pretty snazzy:<\/p>\n<p><object class=\"centered\" width=\"576\" height=\"324\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/d.yimg.com\/nl\/movies\/site\/player.swf\"><\/param><param name=\"flashVars\" value=\"vid=24823894&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed width=\"576\" height=\"324\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" src=\"http:\/\/d.yimg.com\/nl\/movies\/site\/player.swf\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" flashvars=\"vid=24823894&#038;\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Considering that I didn&#8217;t know this movie existed until fifteen minutes ago, and even though I think the alternative theories of Shakespeare are probably bunk, I think I&#8217;ll have to remember to check this out come October or so. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So!
