The cover for it was unveiled today:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"640\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/11\/coe9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31612\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cover image is of the world Kharzh&#8217;ulla IV, seen in my story, as rendered by artist Chris Moore.  Kharzh&#8217;ulla boasts of an orbital ring connected to the surface by space elevators built by an ancient race.  In the 24th-century, the Ring faces collapse and the crew of the USS <i>da Vinci<\/i> is called in to consult and, perhaps, repair the Ring.<\/p>\n<p>The stories in <i>Grand Designs<\/i> are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>#37: <i>Ring Around the Sky<\/i> by Allyn Gibson<\/li>\n<li>#38: <i>Orphans<\/i> by Kevin Killiany<\/li>\n<li>#39: <i>Grand Designs<\/i> by Dayton Ward &#038; Kevin Dilmore<\/li>\n<li>#40: <i>Failsafe<\/i> by David Mack<\/li>\n<li>#41: <i>Bitter Medicine<\/i> by Dave Galanter<\/li>\n<li>#42: <i>Sargasso Sector<\/i> by Paul Kupperberg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time Kharzh&#8217;ulla <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/?p=317\">has been depicted<\/a>.  Michael Collins&#8217; cover of the 2004 eBook publication of <i>Ring Around the Sky<\/i> was simply breathtaking:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.allyngibson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2005\/02\/ringbig.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve felt incredibly blessed to have artwork as sensational as these two pieces representing my story.  Blessed. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>For those who haven&#8217;t read <i>Ring Around the Sky<\/i>, perhaps because of the eBook format, come July you&#8217;ll have your chance.
