On a Sad Discovery

I made a shocking discovery yesterday — Constellations has been remaindered.

Imagine Anakin Skywalker as he’s awoken, encased in Darth Vader’s environment suit. Imagine his scream of “Nooooooooo!”

I can’t complain, really. I’ve signed a lot of copies. The book’s gone through four printings at least. That Constellations would turn up remaindered somewhere was pretty much inevitable.

For readers who haven’t picked the book up yet, now it can be found at a budget price.

There’s good stuff in there. Like stories from Bill Leisner, Kevin Dilmore & Dayton Ward, Bob Greenberger, Dave Galanter, and a lot more. Oh, and a little story by me. 😉

Still, the thought of the book being remaindered — well, that’s a little sad. :/

Raise a glass.

  1. Pardon my ignorance, but what does that mean exactly? I know it means they’ll sell copies at a reduced price, but will they let it go out of print? It’s only been out for a year. It’s a bit surprising (considering I still see copies of Distant Shores out there, never on sale).

  2. I’m not sure that it’s a bad thing, exactly, except that remainder copies sold don’t count toward royalties.

Not that Constellations was likely to earn royalties, but that’s neither here nor there.

Hmm. I may have just noticed a bug in WordPress 2.3 It says the date on this post is November 1st. Hmm.

  3. Funny. I would’ve thought that multiple printings would’ve insured that it didn’t get remaindered, unless they vastly overestimated the most recent printing size…
