On another Book Meme

Seen on Keith’s LiveJournal:

  1. You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien
  2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
    Sadly, yes.
  3. What are you currently reading?
Star Trek: Captain’s Blood, by William Shatner and Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens
  4. The last book you bought is:
The Game, by Laurie R. King. I’m at best a lukewarm fan of her series of Sherlock Holmes and Mary Russell novels. Only one I’ve found completely worthwhile–The Moor–while the rest I have some issues with.
  5. The last book you read:
Star Trek: Titan: Taking Wing, by Andy Mangels and Mike Martin
  6. Five desert island books:
The Complete Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien
Le Morte d’Arthur, by Sir Thomas Malory
Martian Time-Slip, by Philip K. Dick
The Dark Knight Returns, by Frank Miller
  7. Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Does posting this on my webpage count? I’d hope so…. 🙂

  2. Allyn said : “I took the question to mean, If you could be the last book in the world which book would you be? ”

In that case I would be any book by Bill O’reilly, Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity.

On a more specific note I would say MEG by Steve Alten.

  3. Erm. As to #1, how about being “The Iceman Cometh”? Or “A River Runs Through It”?

Anything to put out the flames!

  4. Oh – what I’m reading: Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.

Last book I bought: Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon

The last book I read: DaVinci Code by Dan Brown

    Desert Island books:
LOTR (only counts as three if bound separately! *laughing*)
    The Eight by Katherine Neville
The Scarlet Pimpernel by “Baroness Orczy”
The Count of Monté Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Surviving Well Off The Land (from MEN about 30 years ago, compiled)
