On Daylight Savings Time

Congress is considering a proposal to extend Daylight Savings Time. Currently it runs from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October. The version contemplated by the Senate would move the beginning of DST to the middle of March and extend it to the first Sunday in November, while the House version would add a month at the beginning and another month at the end.

I’m no fan of the early April start or the late October end because of when sunrise and sunset falls at those times. Extended DST would make those mornings in the extended period even darker, and who wants to begin their day in dark and gloom?

I sense letters to my elected officials in my future. 😉
