On Doctor Who Intros

Last week I mentioned that, in the United States, BBC America attached a prologue/voice-over to Doctor Who, with Amy introducing the series and its premise.

It turns out that Canada and Australia also had the Amy voice-over.

Maybe it’s an international thing. I kinda hope it goes on the DVD sets, if only as an extra. I liked it, and not just because of my fondness for Scottish redheads.

Some have said the intro is very Sarah Jane Adventures. I thought it was more Quantum Leap, myself.

Then I wondered what it would be like if it were more A-Team

“In 1963 a daft old man was sent to prison by a Gallifreyan court for a crime he didn’t commit. This man promptly escaped from a maximum security time loop to a junkyard in present day London. Today, still knocking about the universe in a stolen and outdated Type-40 time capsule, he survives as a righter of wrongs. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire the Doctor.”

And in a couple of hours, “Day of the Moon!”
