On Fleeting Thoughts

This morning, while in the shower, I had an absolutely brilliant idea for a blog post.

So, naturally, I completely lost it moments later.

This seems typical.

I know there’s something missing in my mind — these ideas, that is — because I can “feel” the space the idea once occupied, only I have no idea what the idea was or where it came from. It’s like the episode of Challenge of the Super-Friends with Hawkman Day — the Super-Friends knew that time had been tampered with the Legion of Doom, because there were gaps in the Hall of Justice’s computer memory banks.

Geeky analogy, I know.

But that’s how it is. Fleeting thoughts, as they race through the mind. They’re like neutrino streaks through pure titanium. The neutrino itself is gone; only the etched track remains.

Such is life.
