There’s a Dunkin Donuts about two blocks from where I work. I stopped there this morning, bought two donuts and a large coffee. Dunkin Donuts has a plan–they want to take down Starbucks, and I’ve always been partial to Dunkin Donuts coffee. It’s cheaper than Starbucks, it’s not as fancy as Starbucks, and if you want that caffeine hit it tastes really good.
The donuts were fab. The coffee was not.
The coffee tasted weak. And it didn’t look like coffee. Rather, it was a strange solid suspended in a brackish liquid of a light brownish cast.
Frankly, I was disappointed. If Dunkin Donuts is going to take down Starbucks, this isn’t the way to win converts.
