On the Kindle Revolution

Let’s suppose that someone has a Kindle, Amazon’s eBook reader.

Let’s suppose that they like to read my website.

Now they can read it on the Kindle!

I spent an hour last night setting things up with Amazon, and for a subscription price of $1.99 a month, you can now have Allyn Gibson and his skewed take on the world delivered right to your Kindle.

And if you have a blog that you’re interested in making available to the Kindle, signing up with Kindle Publishing for Blogs is pretty painless.

  1. Wow, that’s a pretty interesting idea.

But… do you think it’ll go anywhere? For example, I use Google Reader, which I can access anywhere with my BlackBerry Bold. I could get a program such as Viigo for the BlackBerry to read feeds as well. The same is true for Windows Mobile, Palm Pre, iPhone, and other connected devices. Does the Kindle have that kind of penetration in the RSS market?

  2. Kindle does have an iPhone app, but I do not believe you can use it to access blogs – only books via the Amazon.com Kindle store.
