A friend and I were talking today about a mutual acquaintance, and she brought up some of the curve balls life had thrown his way, some of the mistakes he had made. She felt unsure as to whether or not she should bring them up, because I might think less of him down the road.
I thought she knew me better than that.
People make mistakes in their lives. I’ve made mistakes. It’s how people learn from those mistakes and grow from them that matters, that defines their character, not that they made the mistake in the first place. What matters to me is not who a person was but who they are today, and who they want to be.
