• Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
  Nope.
• What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now?
  None.
• What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?
  Forced to read? The Pearl, by John Steinbeck. What a dreadful piece of shit.
• What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
  David Gerrold’s Worlds of Wonder. It’s his book on writing science fiction, but I’ve found his ideas applicable to everything.
• Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they?
  Nope. When was I last in a library?
• Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all?
  I found K.W. Jeter’s Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel Warped to be a good, challenging piece of work — Star Trek mixed with a phildickian mindfuck, basically — but it’s pretty much hated across the board and has been blamed for starvation in Africa and ethnic cleansings in Freedonia the last time I checked. I wouldn’t say I loved the book, but it’s nowhere near as bad as its reputation.

  Yes. No. Yes. Yes. Yes. How would that work? No.
• When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits?
  I was little?
