I really don’t know anything about Gundam, even after selling Gundam video games at EB Games, then writing about Gundam models for the past fourteen years at Diamond Comic Distributors, except that it involves giant robots.
And that’s okay! I don’t need to know anything more than that.
Yet, when I had to write some copy about the Arsene Gundam X, I think my brain genuinely broke. Maurice Leblanc’s early 20th-century gentleman thief, Arsene Lupin, as a giant robot.
He has monocle! He has a top hat! He’s wearing a cape! He’s probably plotting how to embarrass Ganimard and the Parisian gendarme as I type.
If there were a matching Herlock Sholmes Gundam, I’d probably lose my mind.
I ordered one. It’s only ten dollars.
