On Phishers

Today I’ve been inundated with phishers. A phisher is a particular kind of spammer–not a follower of that college favorite band, Phish, a band that I’m not even sure still tours–one that wants their target to give up all sorts of personal information like credit card numbers and the like.

Today, I keep getting messages from PayPal asking me to reactivate my account.

There’s an obvious problem. The e-mail address I’m receiving these messages on? Not the e-mail address I have on file with PayPal.

That the message itself–and the reasons for needing to reactivate my PayPal account–is completely bogus (and impossible to check for on their end) is beside the point.

So, I keep deleting these messages. As if I had nothing better to do that wonder about spammers. :/
