On Having No Joy

There is no joy in Wrigleyville…
The Mighty A-Ram has struck out.

The “Season of Hope” came to an end last night. It wasn’t particularly close. Another October dream of the Cubs dashed.

But there’s always next year! Spring is coming!

“Spring is a time for fresh starts and blooming, a season when even the pessimist is tempted to dream of what might be.”

I read that once, many years ago, and it’s so right. There’s always next year. Let’s play two.

Cubs fans shouldn’t be heartbroken. FOX television execs, sure — they’re looking at the nightmare potential World Series match-up of Cleveland and Denver.

The Cubs went from worst to first in their division in a single year. There’s always next year.

There’s always next year.

One parting thought.

There’s always next year! 🙂
