Yesterday evening, on my way out the door to go to an inventory in Smithfield, a bee stung me in the knee. I couldn't get the stinger out, though I could feel it, and as I was already running late — I meant to be there at 7:30, but didn't get out the door until 7, and it's an almost hour drive from Raleigh to Smithfield — I didn't fuss with the stinger, though my keychain, the way it dangled from the ignition, kept rubbing against my knee and the stinger.
Not more than two hours later my sinuses were a nightmare of mucus. Stuffy, difficult to breathe, and more than a little runny.
I haven't blown my nose this much since, oh, February.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, the bee sting and the mucusey nose. Maybe it's not.
Nevertheless, yuck!
