On Nerd-dom

So, there I was, writing a Doctor Who product description for the next catalog, and I typed “Moxx of Bollhoon.”

And I knew, as soon as I typed it, that it was wrong. Oh, “Moxx” was right, but I knew I’d mangled “Bollhoon.” I’d mangled an alien name. I was in the right ballpark, I still had to look it up, and I was off by two letters. “Balhoon,” not “Bollhoon.”

If that’s not nerd-dom — knowing that I’d gotten a one-shot alien’s name wrong — I don’t know what is.

  1. Heh. I’ve designed an “Angels Have The Phone Box” t-shirt for a Cafepress store. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be like Larry and have one? 😆
