On A Vast Open Expanse

I look outside, and I think I could fall into the sky.

There are no clouds. Just sky that reaches forever.

When it’s like this at night, I can feel forever. The sky is so dark and deep, the stars are so inviting. I can feel the vastness of the cosmos. I can feel how insignificant I am compared to planets and stars and galaxies. As the eyes adjust to the darkness, as dimmer stars reveal themselves, in that moment, I can feel everything.

The canopy of blue today, however?

Vast, open, expansive. The sky is so large. I just want to fly. I want to fall upward and soar through the sky.

That I’m listening to the LOVE version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” right now has nothing to do with this feeling. 😉
