On Life

I’ve had to fortify myself with Guinness. I’m on my third in the last forty minutes. It’s been one of those days.

The thing is, today didn’t start out that way.

I haven’t been sleeping recently. Mainly it’s the weather–I’ve not been able to get comfortable at night. Last night, though, I managed to sleep fairly well. I felt rested when I awoke in the morning. I hadn’t felt that way in the past few days.

But then something happened, and all the wind fell away from the sails. The rest of the day went by in an uncharacteristic daze.

I’m still stunned and at a loss for words.

When I find the words I’ll say more.
