On Battling Orcs

I put Lord of the Rings: Return of the King in the XBox. I wanted to kill some Orcs. 🙂

Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn might argue at the rampant militarism in fighting the Orcish hordes and the centuries of oppression the Orcs have endured at the hands of Gondor and the Men of the West. I wasn’t interested in the political ramifications of the War of the Ring; I just wanted to kill some Orcs.

It’s quite relaxing to kill Orcs. There’s no finesse required–just mash the button, swing your axe or sword, and watch the Orcs fall. It’s quite mindless, but immensely fulfilling and relaxing.

Good-bye, Orcish hordes!
