The phone rang at work this morning. I was in the midst of rearranging the PlayStation 2 games, put a stack of games on the top of a gondola, and answered the phone.
I rattled off the current phone spiel.
“Is there anyone there that plays Star Wars games?” the guy on the other end of the phone asks.
This sort of question isn’t uncommon–people will call the store thinking I can dispense immediate help in beating various and sundry games. Thinking this was one of those calls I said, “I’ve played more than a few.”
“Good,” the guy said. “You know those robots with the long noses in Phantom Menace, the battle droids? What are they called?”
“The Battle Droids?”
“Yeah, the ones with the lasers and stuff.”
“They’re called ‘Battle Droids.’ You had it right the first time.”
“Oh, good,” he said. And he hung up.
So, let’s recap. A guy calls me up at work, to ask me what to call a Star Wars Battle Droid. Right.
Oh, is Keith doing research for a Star Wars novel pitch? 😉
