Thanks to a couple of friends:
The thing I found interesting was the breakdown of the statistics. Let’s quote its bit on “Allyn”:
- There are 1,500 people in the U.S. with the first name Allyn
- 4019th most popular first name. (tied with 1145 other first names)
- 100 percent of people with the first name Allyn are female.
Obviously, I’m going to quibble with the third assertion. Though it would explain why I get so much mail for “Ms. Allyn Gibson”….
I’m actually not sure how accurate the engine for this “search” is. It’s probably just doing some sort of statistical analysis. I know of a few other Allyn Gibsons–there was a retired baker in Oberlin, Ohio. There was a gay and lesbian studies professor in Florida. There was a World War II veteran who fought at Iwo Jima. Perhaps all three of them have passed away by now.
Which would make me unique. Like the survey says.
It claims that I’m unique, too, which Google seems to agree with; there’s one Andrew Timson in the Phillipines about my age, and one in the UK who’s a politician perhaps thrice my age.
Nice!
There are 72 for my name. Time to start whacking people…. 😛
