On Tristram Shandy and Other Movies

I think Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story may be the funniest movie I’ve seen this year. If not the last year or two. Certainly the funniest I’ve seen since Shoot ‘Em Up.

Yes, I realize it’s been out for a couple of years, but it’s hilarious. And you have to pay attention to it.

And, of course, it has Kelly Macdonald. Oh! And Stephen Fry. Oh! And Gillian Anderson.

Also some guy named Steve Coogan.

I’ve never read the book. I think I’m going to read the book.

On the other hand, I’ve gone and bought a Uwe Boll movie.

Target has In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale on sale for $3.98 through Saturday. I was dropping off film for development, and while I was there I decided to see what they had.

I’m sure it’s going to be terrible. I’ve no doubt of that.
