Holiday Road Photos II

Today was the second stage of my holiday adventures, going from Lynchburg to Raleigh.

My siblings and I had discussed with my dad the possibility of me bringing him to North Carolina, and while he was receptive Sunday and Monday, yesterday he didn’t feel up to the trip. He’s eighty-four and frail, and it’s a long trip.

Like my trip from Winchester to Culpeper, I again took a road less traveled — the Family Dollar General Highway. In other words, US 501, which seemed to have either a Family Dollar or a Dollar General about every three miles between Lynchburg and South Boston.

I stopped at two random churches along the way and wandered around their cemeteries. These photos all look weird, as I had unintentionally flipped the camera over into the wide-angle mode and didn’t notice until I was in Raleigh.

My brother-in-law wanted to go to church tonight, so we went to a local United Methodist Church. Before, we went looking for some Christmas decorations.

The church itself was interesting. I am a weirdo and a tourist and took lots of photos.
